Advanced water purification solutions for coastal communities
Program Overview
Our Water Purification project addresses water quality challenges in coastal regions of Bangladesh such as Satkhira, Shyamnagar where saltwater intrusion and other impurities affects drinking water sources. Through innovative filtration technologies, we’re working to provide sustainable clean water solutions.

We have implemented desalination units at Biralokkhi Government Primary School and Banasree Shikkha Niketon Middle School
Methodology
Reverse Osmosis Tube
Uses a semi-permeable membrane to remove dissolved salts, heavy metals, and other contaminants from water, producing clean water.
1. System Design & Components
Designed by high school students using principles from electrical engineering and energy systems, the desalination system combines:
- Activated carbon pre‑filter – removes odor and large particles before further treatment.
- Iron filter and Sediment Filter - gets rid of Iron and traps other particles such as sand ,dirt and etc to get rid of them
- Reverse osmosis (RO) stage – a pump forces water through a semi‑permeable membrane to separate contaminants from the purified stream.
- Automated Storage System - the unit automatically turns off upon filling up the tank in order to save energy and increase longetivity
