How We Came Up With This Organization

We are high school students who are concerned about the lack of safe drinking water in many communities across Bangladesh. Through our research and discussions, we learned that many families continue to use water without knowing whether it is safe to drink. We also became aware of the growing challenge of groundwater salinity in coastal regions, where saltwater intrusion has made many traditional water sources unsuitable for drinking. This motivated us to take action and contribute toward solving these problems.

We later brought together our interest in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering to work on practical solutions. Through our nonprofit initiative, we are developing water purification and desalination technologies while collecting and testing water samples from multiple regions across the country, with a particular focus on coastal communities affected by both water contamination and salinity. Alongside our technical work, we conduct awareness sessions to educate communities about safe drinking water and water quality issues.

Our work is carried out under the supervision of Prof. Jakariya, Director of the Climate Change & Disaster Resilience Center at North South University. We are also supported through access to laboratory facilities at the Asia Arsenic Network, allowing us to conduct scientific testing and research using established methods and protocols.

By combining engineering, scientific research, and community engagement, we aim to create practical solutions that improve access to safe drinking water. What began as a small student-led effort has grown into a broader initiative focused on addressing some of Bangladesh’s most pressing water challenges and making a meaningful impact in the communities we serve.
